Fantastic wine! Some nice depth and structure. A bit heavier than I initially expected.....but I drank this after a 2005 Silver Oak Napa Cabernet that was much lighter.

Excellent Cabernet at a reasonable price. Decanted for about an 1 hour. Noticeable tartaric acid crystals. Explosion of blackberry with the subtlety of a rich chocolate background. Earthy with herbs amongst developing tannins. Good now and well probably age well within the next 5 years.

Good concentrated flavors. Well structured with ripe fruits and a good amount of acidity. Dark fruits (cherry maybe), graphite is predominant as an aroma and in your mouth. I'm drinking in May 2011 and I think it could use a little time but after the first glass I decanted the rest of the bottle. It definitely improved with air from decanting. I wouldn't necessarily call this a best buy at this price point (~$50-60) but it is a reliable winemaker that won't disappoint.

Wine was ok. Probably needed more than the 1hr decant time that was recommended. I rate it a $30 bottle. Have to desire to purchase another anytime soon. Bought Fay recently to see if any better.

This Cabernet has aromas of cassis and carmael rise and give way to earthy notes of black olive, black pepper, and truffles. With classic flavors of cassis and black cherry, this full bodied wine fills the mouths with notes of violets and vanilla leading to a lingering finish. Stag's Leap Website

Bright red-ruby. Aromas of black raspberry, cola, chocolate, menthol and licorice. Fine-grained but on the cool side, with sweet raspberry and spice flavors complicated by medicinal menthol and herb notes. Boasts good inner-mouth energy but comes across as a bit clenched and green on the firm back end.

Our 2009 ARTEMIS Cabernet Sauvignon offers inviting aromas of black cherry cola, red cherry, vanilla bean and cocoa powder along with a touch of clove and sage. These notes carry over onto the palate and combine with flavors of milk chocolate, toasty oak and hint of wintergreen. The wine has a smooth texture with great depth and fine-grained tannins. The vibrant fruit, great structure and balanced acidity make this wine pair extremely well with hardy dishes.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is laced with sweet red berries, plums, flowers, mint and cloves. It is an attractive, medium-bodied wine to drink over the next decade plus, once the tannins begin to soften. Today the 2010 is a bit compact. The Artemis is made from both estate and purchased fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2015–2025.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars ARTEMIS, named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, represents our targeted approach of establishing this wine's origin, style, and character as a gateway to their renowned estate wines.Focused and complex, the Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis opens with aromas and flavors of black fruit-blackberry, currant, and plum-that slowly give way to layers of nutmeg, rosemary, grilled game, and warm pie crust. This firmly structured and full-bodied wine gains depth and richness through the finish. Enjoy this wine with filet mignon with green peppercorn cream sauce or braised veal shanks with green olives and capers.
