Ripe and spicy, boasting pretty pear, light oak, hazelnut and butter flavors that turn elegant and refined.
Tart, clean and lively, with sharply focused pear, apple, citrus and spice flavors that hang together nicely. Concentrated and complex, with crisp acidity that sustains the flavors.
Ripe and fruity, with a complex core of apple, melon, fig and hazelnut flavors that are elegant and refreshing.
True to its region, this Napa Chardonnay offers that perfect balance of crisp acidity and ripe fruit. Zesty citrus flavors open the production, which is soon joined by a chorus of pear, apple and melon notes that continue to the finale, where nutmeg and vanilla take a bow. Bravo!
Medium body, acid, fruit and oak. Minerals, vanilla, apples. Well balanced, austere fruit dominated by minerals with oak hints throughout length.
While the 1992 Napa Valley Chardonnay is good, the 1993 is even better, revealing more richness and texture, as well as finesse and flavor.
In 1995, a group of us were lucky to taste this wine in barrel with the winemaker, Robert Brittan, who himself grows much of the Chardonnay that goes into the blend. Thoughtful, generous with his knowledge, and scrupulous about the quality of his wines, he produces a very rich Chardonnay, with typical Napa fruitiness and measured oak influence that is above all balanced and dry enough to enjoy with a meal.
Inviting aromas of white peach, apple, spiced pear, and citrus join with floral notes of honeysuckle and roses to create a beautiful bouquet. The fruity aromas carry over to the palate and marry with a subtle creaminess and a touch of warm brioche. This delicate richness makes the 2006 KARIA Chardonnay a versatile wine at the dinner table. Try it with chicken piccata, corn risotto, or a warm goat cheese salad.
