Stags' Leap Merlot 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"This classic Merlot opens with vibrant aromas of cherry, red plum, pomegranate, cardamom and forest floor. The aromas carry over onto the palate and meld with additional notes of milk chocolate, vanilla and dark spice. The tannins are supple yet have good grip, suggesting that this Merlot be served with hearty dishes such as rack of lamb, herbstuffed turkey or roasted duck in a cherry sauce." -Winery

In addition to lodging and dining, amenities included lawn tennis, swimming, horseback riding, children’s activities, golf, music, cards, a library, and Napa Valley wines and liquors (prior to and after Prohibition). Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
