"This second vintage from our newly planted vineyard, shows forward floral aromas of asian pear, vanilla, and baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), with nuances of lemon zest. The mouthfeel of this non-malolactic Chardonnay is full-bodied, yet clean and refreshing with strong spice notes at the finish. Delicious now, this wine will continue to improve for at least the next five years." Harvest Dates: September 14 - October 13, 1998 Fermentation: 100% Barrel Fermentation No Malolactic Barrel Aging: 10 months Oak: 40% new oak, 60% one year Billon, Francois Freres, Dargaud & Jaegle and Remond (100% French Oak) Blend: 100% Chardonnay, all estate grown in Rutherford with 6 different clone/root stock combinations
