What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Reviews

Jancis
Robinson

Rating: 15/20 - As reviewed by Jancis Robinson Much more development on the nose than the 2003 but more muted at the same time. Some oaky savour on the nose nd then sweet fruit and satin texture on the palate. Good acidity. Difficult to see much distinctiveness on this wine but it's certainly competently made. Sweeter on the palate than the more interesting 2003. 14.6%

Number 14 on Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2004! This Chardonnay shows forward floral aromas of asian pear, vanilla, and baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), with nuances of lemon zest. The mouthfeel of this non-malolactic Chardonnay is full-bodied, yet clean and refreshing with strong spice notes at the finish. Delicious now, this wine will continue to improve for at least the next five years.
