Wine Tasting Notes The rich aromatics of this wine include ripe black fruit, black currants, cocoa and hints of vanilla. On the palate, blackberry, black plums integrate with back notes of maple syrup, creme brulee, and hints of earth, to introduce a very full and voluptuous mouthfeel. With classic Petite Syrah tannin structure, this wine finishes with a long, chewy bitter-chocolate finish.
The color is a deep ruby red. The nose is very full of barrel and slightly harsh. There are notes of plum, blackberry and currant. The initial taste is very much the same as the nose, although lots of tannins and has a large mouth coat and heavy throat feel. The follow-through is medium bodied and heavy. It is slightly spicy, but overwhelmingly full of the taste of the barrel. The pairings for this wine are meatloaf or something of similar sophistication.
Very young and green, high tannins. Needs to age in the bottle several more years.
I would have given this a lower rating but I think the potential is there if you are willing to wait five years. If you are planning to open now and drink let it decant for an hour. If you have five years then let is lay down Lots of berries and intense fruit. However not very balanced because of the tannins.

Expressive notes of cocoa powder, raspberry and lavender introduce this luscious and intensely fruity Petite Syrah. The palate follows with ripe black plum, black coffee, bittersweet chocolate and brown spice wrapped around structured tannins with juicy, berry flavors on the finish.
Blackberry, black cherry, smoke, bitter chocolate and cedary oak on the slightly port-like nose. Densely packed, lush and sweet, with grapey cassis and dark chocolate flavors complemented by an element of cedary oak.Finishes with broad, tongue-dusting tannins.The chocolatey oak element builds on the back end.
