So wonderfully drinkable, as my friend Allison would say. Smooth from beginning to end, excellent mineral notes, the barest amount of sweetness - like an almost ripe pear - somewhere in the middle. Would pair well with just about anything, but was excellent with the red meat we ordered it with. Plus, it has a glass cork - cool!!

This comes from a 30 hectare estate that's owned by the city of Krems. Full of clean, fresh herbed, dry Gruner Veltliner fruit. Lithe in texture and simply pretty. An excellent choice for seafood.

Winemaker's Notes:

location & removal The typically Veltliner is tangy and light. This is because of the good loess soil and the very good climate. In middle of October the grapes were harvested. These were harvested strictly selective. After they were destemmed and pressed carefully, the must was fermented under controlled temperature in a stainless steel tank. characterisation Fresh and fruity; the aroma reminds on white currant, citrus fruits and the typically “Veltliner-Pfefferl”. The aromas are repeat also on the palate. analysis – facts alcohol content: 12,5 % acidity: 5,4 g residual sugar: 1,5 g (dry) storage – time You can drink this wine young, but you can also store this wine for 3-4 years. ideal temperature 10-12o Celcius food – reference The Grüner Veltliner is an ideal partner for traditional Austrian meals, but you can drink it also to asian food.
