What to Expect

Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshingly crisp white wine that offers citrus and tropical fruit flavors with very aromatic notes of green chilies, grass, herbs, asparagus and gooseberries commonly contributing to the bouquet. Sauvignon Blanc is generally unaoked allowing the fruit to shine and highlighting the delicacy of the grape.

Winemakers Notes

The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is focused and intense. Starting with ruby grapefruit, nectarine and a shaded aromatic minerality. The palate is bright with lime juice, honeydew melon and pineapple. A refreshing acidity keeps all of the extraordinary flavors light on their feet, very juicy and a finish that goes on forever.

This is really marked by a sweet herbal note and flowers on the nose while avoiding much of the grassiness so common with Sauvignon Blanc. There are intriguing hints of anise and white pepper adding some complexity. Round and lush up front with integrated acidity and rather opulent flavors of ripe peach and pineapple that finish with a touch of almost cinnamony spice. Balanced and ripe without losing focus. 89pts

Subdued attack, with heat and spiciness on the release. Pointed citrus tartness with pineapple, lemon, orange, and grapefruit. Feels like it's missing some body, but it brings a few interesting flavors to the senses.
