St. Supéry Vineyards Rosé Blend Napa Valley Rosé 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Some people think rosé is a sissy wine, not worthy of accompanying meals even as light as a salad much less a sultry dinner of filet mignon. I don't agree. A fruity, crisp. dry - dry being the key word - rosé is a delight for the senses. From picnics on the beach, to backyard BBQs with grilled meats, many meals are ideal with a dry rosé. full of character, this Merlot from our Dollarhide vineyard was made with your and my food and pleasure in mind. The aroma of fresh strawberries leaps out of the glass at the beginning and are followed by a hint of a floral note. The palate again shows bright strawberry but then is followed by cherries and cream. This is a crisp, dry summer sipper.

I have to admit, I didn't want to like this wine but I do. Spice, plum and oak. All in balance and low alcohol. Started a little funky but opened up nicely and really showed well. Wish I had more.

Our wine is supple with texture; it has finesse that is enhanced by generous sweet berry, toasted oak, a round middle and a licorice finish.
