St. Supéry Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2006
Cherry cola and warm spice on the nose. Dark fruit flavors with a bit of dusty eucalyptus leaf and dark chocolate.
Elegant might not be the first word that jumps to your mind when thinking about a 100% Petit Verdot but St. Supery is nothing but. Not to say it isn't also a fairly big wine with persistent yet very ripe tannins. This wine definitely has weight in every part of it but it carries that weight well, think Gothic Cathedral. Blackberry jam, clove, cinnamon, cedar and tobacco all lifted up by a nice underlying acidity. This wine started me on my search for lesser known varietal bottlings.
A bit of black cherry funk and a dollop of vanilla cream with some tannins mixed in...definitely a food wine that is complex but not quite as deep as I like my cabs.
Dark, rich gobs of flavor with vibrant currant, cherry and berry. Toasty oak nuance and big tannins. Powerful and balanced with a long, lovely finish. Finely tuned and wonderful. - Tasted at winery 4/20/10
Gift from my brother. Smooth, fruity very drinkable. Lived this wine

Luxurious, rich and concentrated with aromas of cherry, currant and blueberry. These are just the start of this 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. The harmonious flavors of black cherry, anise and plush cassis explode upon tasting. This is a classic Napa Valley Cabernet which is wonderful young but has everything it needs to age beautifully.
