St. Supéry Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
This Cabernet Sauvignon presents with bright hues of purples and red. Vibrant, youthful aromas of blackberry, plum and raspberry mingle with notes of chocolate laced with hints of vanillin and toasted oak. Fruit forward flavors burst with blackberry and black plum and are balanced by graceful, structured notes of oak combined with cocoa and a dusty sense of Napa Valley terroir. This is an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that is finely textured with a solid frame., -Winemaker, Michael Scholz
Editorial Reviews for St. Supéry Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Spicy and sweet on the nose with big toasted oak aromas over a base of black currant fruit. A bit matte in the mouth, this is fairly powerful and rich with dense flavors of pencil lead, smokey oak, black currant and candied black plum fruit all topped with a nice hint of mint. The finish is dry and chewy, this is a wine you could age over the short term 2-5 years, and a bit of time certainly would help to tame some of these tannins. Today this is a dark, inky, richly flavored wine that relies on oak as much as fruit for flavor. A powerhouse at this price. 89pts
Had at friendly 's tavern.
This Cab is deep dark and vibrant. It has immediate intense aromas of sweet juicy black cherries and bitter chocolate with a slight peppery slap on the nose. On the palate it explodes with fruits of overripe berries and plum. There is a mild sweetness that lingers with a fullness that never wants to end. This wine is rich and wonderfully moreish. A big red with a big bite - loved it – my type of Cab. For me this is absolutely a winter wine but I fully enjoyed in the summer.
Well balanced and smooth
Very nice well balanced cab with plenty of dark red fruit, soft tannins and a long silky finish. Great value at $25.
Aromas of black cherry, currant, blueberry. Flavors of black cherry, cassis, anise with a bit of apple skin on the finish. Elegant feel. Nice balance with good tannin. It's lush and nice. 87 pts. 11/10/12

Not particularly memorable. (1387 views) Tasted by garypn on 8/5/2012 & rated 89 points: Great napa cab for the price. Well balanced. Ready to drink now.
