Cut grass and floral on the nose with lots of chili aromas, a hint of smoke, almost flinty minerality and rich yellow fruit. On entry this offers up intense fruit, bright and faceted in the mouth with layers of flavor, a hint of smoke, smoky chile, gooseberry, and a faint suggestion of green peas shoots. The long finish shows excellent freshness and clarity a little lemon zest, lots of white pepper and a hint of tannin. 93pts

A modest Sauvignon, with hints of lemon, green pear, melon rind, tarragon and stone. Snappy and a bit shy on flavor today, with a lip-smacking finish. Drink now through 2014.

The 2010 Sauvignon Sanct-Valentin emerges from the glass with expressive layers of green pears, white peaches, sage, tomato leaf and mint. This is a fairly restrained, mineral-driven vintage for the Sauvignon Sanct-Valentin, but it works beautifully here. I especially like the energy and sheer verve in the 2010. Intense mineral notes linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012andndash;2015.
