St Michael Eppan 'Sanct Valentin' Pinot Grigio 2015

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Smoky oak on the nose adds nutty, bacon like aromas to the dried fruit here. Big and broad on the palate yet this remains quite transparent with rich fruit flavors framed by suggestions of smoke and honeycomb. A very light buttery edge on the backend leads to a tight, slightly tannic finish that shows a slight classic bitterness. This is a Chardonnay lovers Pinot Grigio and a very good one at that, I am a little reluctant to admit liking this as much as I do! 91pts
