St. Michael Eppan Riesling Montiggl 2007

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

With a very lean almost lemony nose that hints at almond and grapefruit pith and grows to include some peach and crushed rock as well this is subtle and intriguing. Vibrant acidity which quickly integrates with lovely, ripe peach and apple fruit s that are restrained and a bit citrus with some pineapple tones, and hints of pignoli nuts, and a very cleansing mineral finish which turns a bit more lime like, excellent length with a cyanide/cinnamon/chalky finale 90pts

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Up front light honeysuckle notes followed by herbal and slight butterscotch underneath leads to initial light spritz in the mouth lots of sweet apple, more butterscotch and grassy layers that linger on the finish.
