Winemaker's Notes:

Founded in 1909 and named after the village where it is located, the St. Michael- Eppan Winery is one of the finest co-operatives in Alto Adige, Northeast Italy with over 350 growers who share a commitment to maintain the ecological balance of their vineyards in the most natural way possible and to produce fruit that is exceptional in quality and typicity. In 2000, the Gambero Rosso, chose St. Michael- Eppan as the best Italian winery of the year. They also named Hans Terzer, master winemaker for the past 30 years at St. Michael-Eppan, one of the ten best winemakers in the world. Most of the fruit is sourced from vineyards located in the south Tyrol areas of Appiano, Caldaro and Mazzon at elevations of 984-1,640 feet There are three quality levels: the Classic Line - archetypes of their varietals and appellations with outstanding price/quality ratio; the Cru Line - unique terroir-based wines from extraordinary single vineyard sites and Sanct Valentin - the top tier wines from rigorously selected grapes.
