St Hallett Shiraz Barossa 2010
Like many Barossa Shiraz varietals, this ranks among the best Shiraz produced in Australia. This one was wonderfully smooth with pronounced cherries on the nose and palate, with the addition of a perfect hint of oaky vanilla and pepper. This is what most Australian Shiraz's aspire to be.Add winemaker's notes

Its not the deepest or most profound shiraz on the market but it hits the sweet spot bang on. It tastes of sawdusty oak, black cherries, blackberries and fresh, boysenberry-like fruit. Excellent freshness to this wine. Its buoyant and succulent. Ea... Wine Front. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2010 St Hallett Shiraz Faith 750ml
A more cool climatic expression of Shiraz despite its origins, yet pulls it off with aplomb. Some grippy tannins give the wine a pliancy and good astringency. This wine relies less on oak, as with certain wines. Drink now and over the next eight year... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Good depth to red-purple colour; attractive wine; exuberant red and black cherry fruit aromas on the bouquet lead into a juicy, spicy, medium-bodied palate; fine tannins and oak are in carefully measured support. Wine Spectator ReviewRated 89Velvety, open-textured and appealing for its blackberry and tar flavors, hinting at tobacco. The finish sails on. Drink now through 2014.Wine Tasting NotesDark red with purple red hues. Lively lifted cherry raspberry bouquet with chocolate mocha hints. Vibrant dark cherry, raspberry and rich chocolate flavors are balanced with an even, textural palate with smooth and supple tannins. The overall palate effect has good length ofrich ripe fruit and a generosity that is the hallmark of this benchmark Barossa Shiraz.

Therersquo;s far more chocolate cherry fruit concentrated into the center of this wine than at either end mdash; at the moment, the aroma is primary and retiring, the finish quickly fading into to a memory of the wallop of fruit on the palate. While it lasts, the smooth well-upholstered texture is held firmly enough by acidity, and makes the case for a few more years of age.
