Food Pairings for St Hallett Shiraz Barossa
Like many Barossa Shiraz varietals, this ranks among the best Shiraz produced in Australia. This one was wonderfully smooth with pronounced cherries on the nose and palate, with the addition of a perfect hint of oaky vanilla and pepper. This is what most Australian Shiraz's aspire to be.
Was clearly one of the greatest reds ever tasted, be sure to decanter. Great year the 98' was fantastic also can believe we bought it for $40 bottle! only wish there was more in the cupboard.s
External Reviews for St Hallett Shiraz Barossa
Its not the deepest or most profound shiraz on the market but it hits the sweet spot bang on. It tastes of sawdusty oak, black cherries, blackberries and fresh, boysenberry-like fruit. Excellent freshness to this wine. Its buoyant and succulent. Ea... Wine Front. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2010 St Hallett Shiraz Faith 750ml
A more cool climatic expression of Shiraz despite its origins, yet pulls it off with aplomb. Some grippy tannins give the wine a pliancy and good astringency. This wine relies less on oak, as with certain wines. Drink now and over the next eight year... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2010 St Hallett Shiraz Faith 750ml
Good depth to red-purple colour; attractive wine; exuberant red and black cherry fruit aromas on the bouquet lead into a juicy, spicy, medium-bodied palate; fine tannins and oak are in carefully measured support. Therersquo;s far more chocolate cherry fruit concentrated into the center of this wine than at either end mdash; at the moment, the aroma is primary and retiring, the finish quickly fading into to a memory of the wallop of fruit on the palate. While it lasts, the smooth well-upholstered texture is held firmly enough by acidity, and makes the case for a few more years of age.
Inky violet. Deep blackcurrant and cherry preserve aromas are complemented by cocoa, licorice and candied flowers. Lush, round and sweet, with deep dark berry liqueur flavors and no obvious tannins. Mouthfillings and immediately appealing, with very good finishing cling and length.
100% Barossa Shiraz fermented in small lots then aged 14 months in American oak barrels. Vibrant, spicy red fruits framed by solid oak tannins and lovely finish. ldquo;Like Christmas Puddingrdquo; as the Aussie say.
