An excellent Zinfandel, very tasty with a great aroma. The flavor lingers after the wine and is paired with any food that can handle a complex wine. A great buy at CostCo.
Very Nice, full and delicious
A perfect choice for Zin lovers.
Tremendous price on a great jammy everyday drinker. This is a good Zin.
Delicious, round mouthfeel, rich with fruit and spice. Easy drinkability alone or with meats/cheese.
External Reviews for St. Francis Zinfandel Old Vines
Attractive black cherry and dusty mocha aromas lead to appealingly rustic wild berry, loam and forest floor flavors. Finishes with dry tannins. Best from 2009 through 2012.
Most of the grapes for this Zinfandel come from a volcanic ridge high about Sonoma Valley. The wine shows intense, juicy berry flavors and a balanced acidity. Underlying notes of baking spices and a toasted vanilla round out the palate.
Wine Tasting Notes This distinctive wine, clearly in the "old style," is remarkable in its intensity. The nearly pungent aromas of brambleberries, chocolate and rose petals unfold on a palate of opulently rich and seductive fruit flavors characterized by great concentration and depth, with an alcohol level not immediately evident beneath the fruit density. The distinct spice and oak notes carry into the finish, which is nearly endless.
