User Reviews for St. Francis Zinfandel Bacchi Vineyard Russian River Valley

Winemaker's Notes:

Most single-vineyard Zinfandels clearly express “terrior,” a word that describes what different vineyard characteristics, such as climate, soil, and geography, bring to the wine. The Bacchi Vineyard is a perfect example, sitting low in the Russian River Valley with numerous Eucalyptus trees and other wild herbs surrounding its outer edges these aromas are bestowed into the finished wine nearly every vintage, producing a wine that is unique and multifaceted. The fully-ripened fruit is harvested by hand, hand-sorted on our artisan sorting table and then split into two tanks. One tank is cold-soaked for five days, while the other is allowed to begin fermentation right away. When the time comes to blend, trials are performed to ensure the perfect combination of depth and acidity. The final blend is aged in barrel for one year, with 5% Syrah added prior to bottling.
