St. Francis Red Sonoma County 2009
Bright, fruity cherry with hints of spice and easy to drink. Nice medium body wine with a good finish. Should work well as a party wine or just for a casual weekend dinner. Needs to sit for about an hour otherwise may be a bit tightAdd winemaker's notes

Juicy and succulent. A true blend as none of the grapes dominate. Smooth with no real tannin presence. Solid everyday red, true to its name. Lengthy finish of Welch's grape juice.
Scents of spice and licorice. Medium body. Tangy start, it is powdery/dry with a warm finish.
Hint of black licorice on the nose and a little vanilla. Oak monster. On the palate it seems quite smooth, no harsh alcohol at any time. I can still tell this is a heavily oaked wine but at the same time it doesn't seem too overly done. There are notes of overripe black fruits on the mid palate and decent length on the finish. The tannins grab your tongue aggressively at first and mellow off quickly, lessening their grip after just a second or two but hanging on through the finish. Another great effort by St. Francis winery. Great QPR, recommended.
zucchini, summer squash, maybe pumpkin? a value at $13.59, but we found it on a whim in West Virginia.
Really enjoyed this blend, it was on a recommendation from my local shop. I will be back for a few more bottles for sure.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel, this is an easy to drink wine, with red currant and toasty dill aromas. Bright cherry, bittersweet chocolate and spice flavors.
