User Reviews for St. Francis Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County
Add your reviewA rich, red berry nose with a whiff of forward oak. There is a leafiness mixed with tobacco that nicely augments the crushed blackberry scent. Upon entry, the tannins are smooth - not at all dominant or distracting. More berry cordial with a smooth, creamy texture - something which indicates a wine hitting somewhat above its station. Nice, long finish in the Napa-Sonoma tradition. A very good wine at a very good price.
Not a bad wine, and you could certainly do a whole lot worse at this price. Smokey and leathery on the nose. Bit of prune and berry to the taste. A bit more watery than expected. Quite drinkable, but nothing unexpected or in any way out of the ordinary here.
External Reviews for St. Francis Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County
A full-bodied Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon with rich mouthfeel, moderate tannins and deep color accentuating the taste of black currant, plum, blueberry and spicy oak.
Good price for a nicely complex Cabernet for drinking now. Dry and smooth in tannins, it shows ripe blackberry, cherry, licorice and herb flavors, with a kiss of oak.
From Sonoma County comes this solid, traditionally made Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich and deeply fruited with great structure, this wine is sure to please at your next backyard barbeque. Will continue to improve with up to seven years of ageing.
Aromas of mocha, currant, dill and herb are rich and concentrated on the palate, revealing a dense, complex core of flavor that keeps building on a long, integrated finish. Very impressive. Drink now through 2009.
This is a pretty good Cab with some pleasant features. It's dark, very dry and rich in tannins, with blackberry and earthy-tobacco and a touch of oak. A good example of a decent countrywide blend.
Currant, plum and black currant tones have firm structure, with roasted herbs and cedary notes on the finish. Drink now through 2006.
