St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Oroppas 2005
The proprietary Bordeaux blend Oroppas is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot and Petit Verdot. It exhibits a dense purple color and a big sweet nose of white flowers blueberries espresso roast white chocolate and spicy oak. The wine is rich supple-textured medium to full-bodied approachable and already revealing surprising complexity. 91pts. R. Parker
“Heavy” nose of dark berry/fruit. Serious hit of cassis on the tongue—a touch “sweetish.” Tannin and acid are, very much, resolved making this a very easy wine to drink without solid food accompaniment. I like it.
Big Black fruit up front on the nose! Wow! Nice structure and a great end palate where it all comes together for this wine! The flagship for St Clement does not dissappoint! Nice wine! Enjoy! Cheers!
Good wine! Very Different.
Big blackberry fruit with some lively oak tones. Very nice wine.
Delicious wine, not as complex as previous vintages but still worth $35.

Wine Tasting NotesThe Oroppas opens with enticing aromas of blueberry jam, red cherry, raspberry, milk chocolate, clove and brown sugar. Black cherry, raspberry jam, caramel, and dark chocolate flavors greet the palate, and the rich fruit flavors are supported by structured, yet velvety tannins. Black pepper, candied apple and dark chocolate linger on the palate for a long, complex finish.
