St.-Chinian Travers de Marceau Rimbert 2009

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

A tasty organic red made from Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Grenache. Notes of cedar and blackberry on the nose are sustained through the palate, along with black cherry and jam flavors. The tannins are present but smooth.

Tasting Notes:

Travers de Marceau is a fruity wine to drink now, a juicy wine that is based on Carignan but has the other usual suspects of St. Chinian (Syrah, Grenache etc.) Party wine, picnic wine, call it what you want, it is an easy, enjoyable, juicy medium-weight wine to serve with good young cheeses. Notable for a wine of this type (and price) Rimbert's raw materials for Travers de Marceau are impeccable: yields are at most 30 hectoliters per hectare, naturally and meticulously farmed (http://www.3cups.net/domaine-rimbert-les-travers-de-marceau)
