St. Amant Winery Zinfandel Lodi Old Vines Mohr-Fry Ranch Vineyard 2007
This "Mohr Fry Ranch" vineyard was planted in 1944 in the heart of the Lodi Appellation. It was one of the first "certified" vineyards under the Lodi rules for Sustainable Winegrowing. The Lodi rules takes a comprehensive approach to address the overall health of the vineyard and ecosystem. Winery Tasting Notes: "A big ripe chewy Zin with rich raspberry and spicy blackberry flavors finishing with a delicious mouthcoating texture. The wine is loaded with flavor that should develop nicely over the next 3-5 years, but is hard to resist in its exuberant youth."
Coor-black/blue; nose-blackberry & licorice; mouth-plum,coffee,earth; finish - long buy it age it share it
We had this over the weekend and it was delicious. Very smooth with a little peppery hint. Lots of fruit flavors. Rich but not heavy.
