Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc Marlboroug 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Bouquet: Passionfruit and ripe melon. Some underlying herbal notes and hints of mineral/flint. Palate: The brightness of pure fruit flavours shines through on the palate. Lees aging of the vineyard parcels provides weight and interest, as well as balance to this wine.

Pineapple and banana, sharply acidic but balanced with fruit. Clean finish. . Pairings: Great aperitief, probably good with raw oysters or other salty foods

I thought it was delicious, and I could taste the passionfruit right away. More fruity and less grassy then most Sav. Blancs I've tried. Herbal notes came out when I drank it while eating chicken soup that had been flavored strongly with sage, thyme, and rosemary.
