Slight tannins around the edge--not as much as I might have expected. Wood from the aromas still there. Not much in terms of fruit. Medium-length finish with a slight bitter sensation. US$19.99 at Total Wine in 2010.

Deep colored, no sign of brownish tinge. Nose is earthy. Initial sip has "sweetish" tinge. As the wine moves over the palate earthiness and plum/prune flavors take over. Very noticeable but not dismaying tannin. This wine might be described as "rough," but, to me, it just seems characteristic of its Spring Mountain origin. US$19.99 in 2010.
