- The 1998 release of Cabernet Sauvignon from Spottswoode is another classic reflection of our estate vineyard. This wine is friendly and quite approachable with all of the aromas and flavors that are characteristic of Spottswoode - blueberry, blackberry, plum, cassis and molasses. With a bit of dried rose petal, bay leaf and plum on the finish, this wine is a delicious drink upon release. Compared with some of the bigger, more heavily structured vintages in the 90's, our 1998 is a bit more refined, fruit driven and showy in its youth.95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc

- Good red-ruby. High-toned aromas of plum, currant, tobacco, chocolate and fresh herbs. Pliant and supple on entry, then a bit green toward the back end, with light but slightly drying tannins. This has good texture but could use more verve.
