Spinifex Red Rhone Blend Barossa Valley Indigène 2008

Member Review by zufrieden:

Dark and brooding, this northern Rhone-style wine is redolent of plums, dusty baskets of sweet cherries and desert herbs (sage, perhaps). Mouthfeel is slightly warm with black pepper, cola and plum on the palate. This is a very "neat" expression of Oz with a salute to the elegance and balance of the mid-Rhone. A truly splendid wine which is probably best now or over the next 2 years. 91 points.

We aim to make wines that display signatures of vineyard provenance and vintage, show regional typicity and have a consistent thread of 'house style' that reflects our preferences and experiences with wine. The wines we choose to make are predominately blends, the synergies derived from blending wines of differing character enhance the subtle complexities, even textures and profound personalities delivered from great old vine vineyards..."
