Spinifex Indigene 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Sourced from very mature vineyards, some exceeding 100 years of age, Indigene displays a potent and complex array of briary dark fruits and savory secondary complexities. The beauty and value of old vine vineyards is in the discreet complexity their wines express, they are aromatically subtle yet deep and display hard to define, enigmatic characters that are both sweet and earthy, rich yet ethereal.

Our focus is on making regional wines from the traditional Mediterranean grape varieties that have been grown successfully in Australia for over 150 years - Shiraz, Mataro, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, Ugni Blanc, Grenache Gris, Marsanne and Semillon. We aim to make wines that display signatures of vineyard provenance and vintage, show regional typicity and have a consistent thread of 'house style' that reflects our preferences and experiences with wine. The wines we choose to make are predominately blends, the synergies derived from blending wines of differing character enhance the subtle complexities, even textures and profound personalities delivered from great old vine vineyards..." Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
