What to Expect

Syrah: One of the few grapes to really be a global success. Syrah combines a meaty core of ripe berry fruit with tones that range from herbal to peppery in a package that tends to be medium bodied with good acidity and softer tannins. With age the wines can gain lovely leathery and black olive notes that make them a great match for savory and gamy dishes.

Winemakers Notes

The maiden flagship blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Grenache is fine, aromatic and fresh with mixed spices, fruit and a silky texture. Red Wine Trophy Winner at Classic Wine Trophy 2005.

The price quoted should be in South African Rand, not US dollars. I had the good fortune to visit the vineyard recently in South Africa and it cost 300 Rand. Beautiful setting and this wine came out of left field and knocked me out. Wonderful blend for those who like an exotic, spicy, full-bodied wine. Of all the wines I imbibed in SA, this was the best. Excellent after a day of safari.
