Rich red and black berry nose with cedar, incense and Indian spices. Notes of plum, blackberry, some blueberry and crushed black pepper. Big, concentrated flavor up front on a powerful frame. Some hints of cola with black cherry, blackberry, black plum, some dried red fruits and a peppery, smoky edge. Nice mix of spice on a lingering finish. Good! 89 pts.

Dark and winey, with lots of sappy kirsch, blackberry and plum sauce notes supported by dark licorice and sweet spice through the finish. Shows nice range and character. Syrah, Mourvandegrave;dre, Carignane, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Tannat. Drink now.

A super-interesting blend of 37% Syrah, 21% Mourvandegrave;dre, 18% Carignan, 10% Petite Sirah, 10% Grenache and 8% Tannat, the bouquet is loaded with assertive aromas of black currant, licorice, black olive, whole tobacco leaf, cigar box spice and leather. Creamy but firmly textured, like crushed velvet, with a rich boysenberry and plum juiciness to the palate.

Bright red-ruby. Aromatic nose combines blackberry, violet, dark chocolate, mint and dried herbs. Very ripe but spicy and juicy, with hints of roasted berries and game supported by a firm spine of acidity. Irsquo;d drink this moderately deep wine in the next year or two.

Very pure, with mouthwatering sanguine notes piercing through the deliciously ripe blackberry, blueberry and raspberry fruit. The long, silky finish lets incense and mineral notes play out. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvegrave;dre and Carignan. Drink now through 2010.

Rich, but stylish and alluring, delivering mulled plum, currant and fig notes laced with black tea, supported by a nice graphite edge on the smoky finish. Syrah, Carignan, Mourvegrave;dre, Souzou, Grenache, Tannat and Petite Sirah. Drink now.

Winemaker's Notes:

Intense red-purple in the glass. Initial smoky cloves and savoury notes give way to a plum and black cherry nose with hints of sweet oak spice. Medium bodied with well-integrated oak and fruit, this wine has a smooth tannin structure and lingering spice flavours.
