fruit and oak on the nose, acid and fruit build and last a long time in the mouth. the finish is not very nice, it just peters out. not bad for the price though, i'd buy it as an inexpensive summer white.

Very food friendly wine. Seems to enhance its presence with food, a spot weak on its own. Nice tropical fruit, pear and honey flavors. Nice mouth feel but not too weighty and a mild acidic conclusion. Try this one at dinner with creamy pasta dishes or seafood.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Spice Route Chenin Blanc is produced from the Malmesbury region of the Cape West Coast. It is 100% Chenin Blanc. The tropical fruit characters on the nose are backed beautifully by a lick of vanilla and praline notes. The palate is rich, with peach and pineapple flavours, well balanced acidity and a long, elegant finish. Perfect with fish and rich creamy sauces, medium mature soft cheeses and especially full flavoured spicy Eastern dishes. Try it with grilled langoustines with a rich garlic sauce, calamari tempura with sweet chilli dipping sauce or risotto a la pescatore. Can also handle white and red meat, such as brai fired t-bone steaks or spit roasted suckling pig with a honey and chili baste.
