Mourvèdre provides a marvelous raspberry aroma and mouth-filling taste while the other grape varieties add their own nuances to this Zinfandel based beauty. This matches well with everything from grilled ahi tuna to Italian red sauce dishes to lamb and red meats. When you’re out of Zin you need Mo Zin!
Nestled among the majestic coastal redwoods of the Mayacamas Mountains, our steeply terraced mountainside vineyard yields small amounts of richly flavored Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Sangiovese grapes. From this and select cool-climate vineyards throughout Sonoma County we craft limited quantities of European-style blended wines, strongly influenced by Bordeaux, the Rhone Valley and Tuscany.
Really rich, deep berry flavor with a killer nose.
Expect a base of raspberry and blackberry flavor with raspberry aroma. The wine has a food-friendly, graceful balance between fruit and oak and matches well with everything from grilled ahi tuna to Italian red sauce dishes to lamb and red meats. This Rhone-inspired wine was made to be immediately enjoyable but will also improve and gain complexity in the bottle for 5 to 8 years after the vintage date. With age, more of the leathery/raspberry notes from the Mourvèdre will appear.
Great wine to drink with rich, complex foods. Spicy up front, with a smooth finish.
