Soter Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton Beacon Hill 2002

Member Review by 97mjr:

[The Harrison: grilled seabass] Deep violet color. Beautiful aromas of brambleberry, dark cherry and pepper. Started with some dark fruit and a hard edge, but nice subtle blueberry finish. After a couple of hours rounded out nicely with dense, dark cherry, blackberry; later developed rich mocha. Substantional oak and tannins for a pinot. Improvement significantly after a couple of hours, will likely benefit from a year or two, but really enjoyable now.

Presented younger than the previous bottle. Drank over 2 hours. Was overwhelmed by tannins and oak. Otherwise, aromas of rose, maple, cherry. On the palate, oak, medicinal finish. Will hold off drinking the last 2 bottles for 9-12 months.
