Soter Brut Rosé Beacon Hill 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2001 Beacon Hill Brut Rose was disgorged in March 2006. Salmon pinkin color, it offers a lovely bouquet of rose petals, strawberry, andwheat thins. There is a steady stream of tiny bubbles, crisp flavorswith depth, and serious persistence on the palate. Personally, for thesame money, Id rather have six bottles of Beacon Hill Brut Rose thanone bottle of Dom Perignon Rose (unless someone else is buying thenits a coin-flip). Barrel samples of Soters three 2006 Pinot Noirs arevery promising. This is a friendlier vintage with fatter, riper fruitand higher alcohol. I would anticipate something special from TonySoter in the this vintage.Renowned Napa Valley winemaker Tony Soter (Etude, Spottswoode, amongothers) has made a full-time commitment to Willamette Valley, movinghis family, building a winery, and planting a vineyard."92 pointsJay Miller, The Wine Advocate, eRobertParker.com # 173, Oct 2007"The 2001 Brut Ros is the most refined expression of our style to date. Expressive on the nose and concentrated in the mouth, it exhibits beautiful focus on the palate. Top notes of antique pink roses accompany suggestions of herby wild strawberries, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, honey, and noble minerals. A long, intense finish adds to an overall impression of luxury and harmony.Food Pairing Suggestions:Beacon Hill Brut Ros will bring a smile to the face of even your most curmudgeonly dinner guest. It is difficult to resist, especially paired with triple-crme cheeses, sauces that involve wild mushrooms, or perhaps sauted scallops. Not just an aperitif, here is a sparkling wine to drink with full-fledged entrees like poached wild salmon."~Winery Notes
