Some Young Punks Red Blend Clare Valley the Squid's Fist 2011

Member Review by thefallingman:

Don't let the funky label and screwcap fool you: this is serious wine. A deep, almost inky red color. The nose is floral and grape and quite pronounced. Great flavors of tannin currant/cassis, dark cherry, and tart apple. Really good tannins balanced with acid. An excellent complement to a bison burger with sauteed asparagus and Belgian-style fries.

A dark fruited blend of Sangiovese and Shiraz, this red is ripe, with lots of body and velvety tannins. It’s an obvious match with grilled food.
