Solosole. Poggio Al Tesoro 2016

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Seashells, dried melon, dried lime peel and shadings of chive come together on an appealing bouquet. On the pale this offers up an odd blend of mineral, almost salty seashell flavors with a rather rich, and slightly viscous core of apricot fruit. A touch heavy and clumsy on the palate with a certain creaminess up front, this just doesn’t come together for me. 82pts

Bright straw yellow in colour, with a substantial consistency. Solosole is characterised by a vibrant freshness, which is delicate and balanced. The palate is intense, persistent and refined. The aromas are both floral (white flowers and acacia) and fruity (yellow and tropical, including apricot and banana), typical of this variety.
