I've always had this bottle in my refrigerator, not really knowing what to do with it as I wasn't sure what it would taste like. I finally got the courage to open it and try it out. Opened in Dec 2010. To the nose it had aromas of honey, slight bit of apricot. The color is a golden brown, similar to a dark honey or medium ale and nice long slow legs and had very tiny bits of sediment floating evenly making it a little bit cloudy. It started out with a nice sweet flavor of apricot, little bit of acidity in the back of the pallet and around the sides of the tongue. When you swirl it in your mouth you definitely get the flavors similar to port with apricots. I had some chocolate and it compliments it well. With chocolate cookies it brought out smoky flavors. The lasting flavor eventually turns a little sour. When the wine warms a bit, the green apple flavors turn up. Very nice desert wine. Don't be afraid to try it. From Wine Spectator: 5 puttonyos- 94 pts and #6 (desert) wine of the year-1998

Winemaker's Notes:

"Electrifying aromas and flavors, ranging from black currants and berries to mint and herbs. Full-bodied, with silky tannins; it will last for decades...97." WS 11/93.
