Editorial Reviews for Sobon Estate Viognier California Shenandoah Valley
lovely nose full of nectarine, juicy apricot and yellow flowers. Honied fruits, very fresh and intense but not showing heat. Round and soft, juicy flavors of apricot and cantaloupe the palate with a honied edge and a touch of papaya and even a hint of papaya seed. This is viscous and creamy with a nice blend of fruit and spice notes that leads to a brisk finish with hints of bay leaf. With time this shows some interesting notes of coconut and smoky nuances that add depth to the nose and palate. 88pts

Platinum color with copper highlights. Medium-bodied. Full acidity. Moderately extracted. Melon, apples, sweet herbs. Slightly sweet fruit notes feature an herbal streak that adds complexity. In the mouth the wine is crisp and straightforward with a lean and zesty finish.
Juicy and fruity, chock full of spicy lemon, grapefruit, anise and herb flavors... this lusty wine is quite enjoyable.

The vines this wine is born of are not irrigated, and produce a small crop of intensely flavored grapes. The wine has a very alluring aroma, reminiscent of fresh Sierra meadow flowers, with a hint of peach and honeysuckle. The flavors are rich and spicy, full-bodied and richly textured with a long, lingering finish.
Not as over the top as some Viogniers, with a tight, lemony structure and crisp acids. On the finish, some pretty flavors of peaches and tropical fruits turn up. Distinctive and clean.
Bright, almost crisp in texture, with pretty almond and floral aromas and flavors that echo nicely on the tight finish. Drink now.
