Soave Classico. Pieropan 2013
Candied vanilla greets the nose and this is followed by gentle, pleasant and clean lemon-peel citrus on the palate. Though youthful and thoroughly enjoyable now, this is a wine with some character easily capable of another 3 or 4 years in the bottle. This is typical Pieropan quality well worth the additional few dollars for many dollars more enjoyment.
wild flower, green grass, limestone, crisp
dessert wine, honey, carmel, nuttiness (walnut) beeswax. made in sauternes style.
Two and a half glasses
Light lemon extract color with muted pear and Granny Smith Apple on the nose. Good, smooth pear, apple and ginger-flavored mineral water upon entry with clarity and beauty of expression. An excellent example of what can be achieved with Soave by a determined producer!
Wonderfully fresh and fragrant. Aromas of pear and peach with lavender and a bit of fresh cut grass. On the palate it shows finesse and vibrancy with apple and lemon with minerals showing on the finish. Paired perfectly with a pumpkin ravioli in sage butter sauce.

A Proprietary Blend wine from Veneto in Italy. 2010 Pieropan Soave Classico 750ml
This well-cut white offers a subtle layer of smoky minerality running alongside flavors of green melon, star fruit, lime zest and light spice. Light-bodied and lithe, showing good focus throughout. This is technically a Soave Classico, but bottlings under screw cap are not allowed to carry the Classico distinction. Drink now through 2014.
The 2007 Soave Classico is the estate's entry-level wine. A blend of 85% Garganega and 15% Trebbiano, it spends just a few months in large, neutral oak. This is a classy, elegant Soave redolent of ripe peaches, smoke and earthiness. Made in a taut, focused style, it possesses excellent depth and lovely overall balance. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011.
Bright and fruity with sliced green apple, mineral and lemon character. Medium-bodied. Loads of lemon rind on the fresh finish. This is always serious Soave. Drink now.
