Só Touriga Nacional 2006

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

The 2006 TOURIGA NACIONAL “SO” is from the Casais da Serra vineyard, aged for 17 months in a combination of French and American oak. The “So” on the label means “only” — or might have the sense of “lonely,” spotlighting the monovarietal nature of the wine. This handles its oak very well. The wine’s elegant mid-palate gives it a graceful feel and it has some power and grip on the finish, too. Quite elegant overall, it clocks in at 14% alcohol. Drink now–2016.

An ink-black wine, dark, solid and perfumed. It’s a wine with weight, the power coming from the dense tannins as well as the blockbuster black fruits. There’s a great fresh swathe of acidity that lifts the weight effortlessly.
