Snoqualmie Syrah 2003

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

Syrah was first planted in Washington in the 1970s. The inspiration of winemaking today clearly comes the Rhône Valley. This is smoky with earthy aromas of leather and dark berries. Aged in oak (25% new) for less than a year.

It is one of the first wineries in the state to make wines from USDA-certified organically grown grapes, and as of 2008 has the largest certified organic vineyard in the state.
