Smoking Loon Pinot Noir 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Our 2011 Pinot Noir is a well-balanced fruit forward blend with bold aromatics of cranberry, red raspberry and rose petal coupled with hints of toasty oak and warm baking spice. Subtle on the palate, pomegranate, wild strawberry and plum flavors come into play with subtle mocha and walnut nuances rounding out the finish. Much of our 2010 Pinot Noir's character comes from blending the fruit of several notably cool California growing regions including Clarksburg, Mendocino, and the Sierra Foothills.

Great aromatics. Deep tasting without having a bitter aftertaste.

Brilliant garnet color with seductive rose petal green tea aroma. The palate is ripe with heavily extracted cherry and strawberry flavors with a slight astringency akin to pomegranate seeds. - Winery
