Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Lucia Highlands 2009
This 1997 Cab was opened after 14 years, albeit with much trepidation that it may have gone foul. Fortunatly, we found it had aged spectacularly and while opened, gained much more in flavorbetween the first and last sips. Very smooth with flirtatious citrus flavors, this was a fine, uncomplicated cab that merited 8 thumbs up from the 4 of us who were fortunate to open and share this fine bottle.

Wunderbare Aromen nach Pflaumen, Cassis und Zeder steigen einem in die Nase. Im Abgang ein komplexes Aroma von dunklen Früchten.
Winemaker Notes - Made from grapes grown at our own Smith and Hook Ranches and crafted from the vine to the bottle with attention and care. Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that is sure to please even the most discriminating palate. In true ranch style, this wine pairs well with strong red meat. Try it with prime rib and horseradish, or braised shortribs, with smashed garlic and chive red potatoes.
