Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon Central Coast 2006
rich in the glass and bright on the nose, the 2006 Smith & Hook Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, opens with aromatics of dark fruit, black currant, cassis, clove, and cedar. Layered aromas of plum and cocoa develop into a rich blend of raspberry jam and ripe berry with a hint of vanilla. The substantial, well developed tannins are suspended through the finish with a finely integrated acidity. Made from grapes grown at our own Smith and Hook Ranches and crafted from the vine to the bottle with attention and care, the 06 Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that is sure to please even the most discriminating palate. In true ranch style, this wine pairs well with strong red meat. Try it with prime rib and horseradish, or braised shortribs, with smashed garlic and chive red potatoes.

I'm by no means a Cab expert, but I really liked this and so did my more discriminating father. Seems a good deal at the $20 I paid. Will definitely get it again.

Wunderbare Aromen nach Pflaumen, Cassis und Zeder verführen in der Nase. Im Abgang ein komplexes Aroma von dunklen Früchten. Elegant, komplex und mit viel Stil.
Wine Tasting NotesA warm rush of cherries and plum start at the fore-palate before fading to chocolate and toffee with a hint of mint towards the backend. The tannins are firm, smooth and polished, leaving a silky/supple texture in the mouth, supported by a subtle seam of acidity. This wine leaves an experience with the taster.
