Smallfry Wines Joven 2012

Member Review by Wai Xin Chan:

With strong beliefs in using all things natural, this wine was fermented with natural yeast and zero sulphite for preservation. This translates to a young-drinking wine (Joven after all), acidic and freshness as though it just came from the barrel. Rounded, simple and direct.

We also supply fruit to other wineries, in the 2008 vintage we supplied Teusner Wines, Murray Street Vineyards, Rockford, Fosters Wine Estates, Bethany Wines, Chateau Tanunda, Torbreck, Colonial Estate, Diggers Bluff, Tim Smith Wines, Soul Growers, Spinifex Wines, Turkey Flat Wines, Charles Melton Wines and Karra Yerta. Our white wines are an Eden Valley Riesling and a Barossa Semillon, we also make a Rose style wine from Cabernet Sauvingnon and Grenache grapes and a Riesling dessert style wine. Our red wines are made in a food friendly style using wild yeast fermentation and subdued oak influence. Varieties include Shiraz, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsalt, Mataro (Mouvedre), Cabernet Sauvingnon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Tenprenillo. Much of our Barossa Vineyard is very old vines, 100 years +. Read less
