Sipranillo Tempranillo Cariñena 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

"Sipranillo hails from Spain's Carinena region located in the northwestprovence of Aragon. The region's vines receive very little annualrainfall and produce incredibly concentrated fruit which translatesinto wines of great depth and character. This 100% Tempranillo, true tothe Spanish tradition, is soft and round, with abundant black fruitflavors. Pair it with roasted or grilled meats, pasta dishes, mildlyspicy Asian or fusion cuisine, lamb chops, and your favorite agedcheeses." - Winemaker NotesCheese Pairings: Cabrales Blue, Roncal, IdiazadalFood Pairings: Braised Beef with Sauteed Mushrooms, Grilled Lamb Chops, Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

A respectable table wine. Very berry. Drank it with Chile Releno - paired very nicely with the cheesy, spicy dish. From the label, "The region's vines receive very little annual rainfall and produce incredibly concentrated fruit which translates into wine of great depth and character." This is very much a table wine of great depth and character.

Was expecting a little more from this peppery. berry like red wine. Honestly, I believe Trader Joes Merlot, Cab Sav, or any of their reds are better than this...and for 1.99 (2.99 in other states) it's a better bang for your buck. It's still an acceptable wine, but just not riveting. I got mine from WTSO.
