What to Expect

Most famous as the predominant grape in the blended wines of Rioja, Tempranillo has emerged as a potential star in regions as disparate as Australia and California. Tempranillo generally produces medium-bodied wines with juicy acidity and bright raspberry fruit enlivened by notes of dusty earth, dry herbs and leather. Tempranillo is often blended with Grenache, Graciano, and Mazuelo (aka Carignan) in the production of red wine from the Rioja region of Spain.

"Sipranillo hails from Spain's Carinena region located in the northwestprovence of Aragon. The region's vines receive very little annualrainfall and produce incredibly concentrated fruit which translatesinto wines of great depth and character. This 100% Tempranillo, true tothe Spanish tradition, is soft and round, with abundant black fruitflavors. A respectable table wine. Very berry. Drank it with Chile Releno - paired very nicely with the cheesy, spicy dish.
From the label, "The region's vines receive very little annual rainfall and produce incredibly concentrated fruit which translates into wine of great depth and character." This is very much a table wine of great depth and character.
