External Reviews for Sipino Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Sipino
Dark red in color, with aromas of black cherries and cinnamon, followed by a candied, cranberry aftertaste with just a hint of toasty oak. Velvety and medium bodied, this is a simple and straightforward Pinot. Have it with cedar plank salmon and a honey dill sauce.
Classic, strong, elegant and finely structured - these are the distinctive qualities I associate with this 2005 Pinot Noir from Yamhill Valley Vineyards in Oregon. Cooler temperatures and a later harvest have contributed to creating a full, rich, juicy wine with dark pigment, bright fruit and fresh acidity. It is an excellent match with flavorful meats, lamb, game, and seafood such as salmon. Its intense black cherry nose, ripe tannins and tart fruit promise exciting cellaring. Right now, it is lush and plump on the palate.
All right, Irsquo;m going to get serious in this review. No funny anecdotes, no rhymes, no humor at all. This wine is by far the best Oregon Pinot Noir I have tasted that retails for under $20. Dark red in color, with aromas of black cherries and cinnamon followed by a candied, cranberry aftertaste with just a hint of toasty oak. Velvety and medium bodied, this is a simple and straightforward Pinot. Have it with cedar plank salmon and a honey dill sauce; thatrsquo;s what I did. So SIP on some good PINOt called Sipino, itrsquo;s a great summer time vino. (Sorry, I had to.)
