Sineann Pinot Noir Wyeast Vineyard Oregon 2008
Bright red. Intensely perfumed nose features high-pitched raspberry and wild strawberry aromas plus suggestions of fresh rose and baking spices. Crisp, finely etched red berry flavors show excellent concentration, with exotic floral pastille notes adding complexity. A very refreshing midweight, finishing with dusty tannins and a lingering flavor of sweet raspberry.
According to the wine maker's notes. This Pinot comes off the Wyeast Vineyard, a south-facing, high elevation vineyard in the Hood River Valley. I'm saving my money for a vertical of this region, specifically the Wyeast Pinot Noir. 13.5% alcohol and if you like wines from across the pond you will love this one too!

OregonSineann Pinot Noir Oregon 2008 is a beautiful red wine gem from the Pacific Northwest made by Peter Rosback. The grapes for this Pinot Noir came from several top vineyards: Resonance, Able, Yates Conwill, Covey Ridge, Lachini and Schindler. 2008 was a vintage that featured ripe grapes at somewhat lower alcohol levels. Cool, dry weather lasted deep into October - the sort of year that produces the best Pinot Noirs. Only 1500 cases were produced.Sineann Pinot Noir is dark and aromatic with great natural acidity and spicy, rich flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and clove. It is silky smooth on the palate with a very long finish. Enjoy Sineann Pinot Noir now and over the next 5-7 years with grilled Coho salmon, roast pork, spinach souffle and cheeses. Note the glass stopper in place of a cork or screwcap to preserve the wine. Sineann has been using glass stoppers for several vintages and has found them superior to other closures. We like them for their elegance and simplicity and for the assurance that not one bottle of Sineann Pinot Noir will be corked!
