What to Expect

Rhone Blends are generally based on Grenache, though some blends may be predominantly Syrah or Mourvedre. The fact that these wines are blends gives the winemakers unusual flexibility in creating a finished wine. In the Southern Rhone Valley of France the styles can range from light, fruity, soft Cotes du Rhone to big, bold, age worthy Chateaunuef-du-pape. This blend is also very popular in Australia and the United States where they frequently go by the Moniker GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre) and exhibit the rich, bold fruit that both countries are famous for.

Reviews

Rating: 93/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 128, September/October 2006 ($75) Pale yellow-straw color. Aromas of apricot nectar, nuts, exotic herbs and dried fruits. Dense, rich and oily, but with plenty of verve for a wine with such volume. Dominant flavors of apricot and peach nectar, complicated by talc and minerals. Wonderfully consistent, ripe, thick wine from start to palate-staining finish.

The light gold-colored 2004 The Rejuvenators, fashioned from fruit sourced from John Alban's vineyard, is a blend of 44% Roussanne, 34% Chardonnay, and 22% Viognier. In keeping with the vintage character, it exhibits an extraordinary fragrance o... Robert Parker. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2004 Sine Qua Non The Rejuvenators 750ml
